Stem Cell Advisory Board

Under the leadership of the senior vice president for health sciencs, the University of Minnesota Academic Health Center has established a Stem Cell Ethics Advisory Board, which provides ethics guidance to all University investigators engaged in basic or clinical research related to human stem cells--including those derived from adults, embryos, and fetal tissue.

  • Stem cell research in general
  • Research in the area of human embryonal stem cells
  • Research related to "cloning" and nuclear reprogramming
  • Studies related to genetic profiling of normal stem cells and stem cells or differentiated progeny from patients with certain diseases.
  • Related issues

    • Representatives from outside and inside Minnesota; representatives from U of Minnesota.
    • Representatives from ethics, law, religion, biotech, patient representative.
