Hematopoietic Stem Cells

Investigators are studying hematopoietic (blood cell-forming) stem cells’ structure based on their genetics as well as their functional characteristics. For this research investigators use state-of-the-art methods that include in vitro (in the lab) tests.

In addition, investigators are studying how genetic abnormalities alter hematopoietic (blood cell-forming) stem cell behavior leading to aplasia (failure of tissue or an organ to develop normally) and leukemia.
