On August 28, 2017, twenty Stem Cell Institute faculty, trainees, and employees spent six hours at the MN State Fair talking and playing games with fair-goers who were interested in learning about the research and education that goes on in the Stem Cell Institute. Hundreds of individuals stopped by to ask questions and share their experiences at the University of Minnesota, whether as students, employees, or patients. There were many lively exchanges that led to a common appreciation of the contributions of the University to the citizens of the state, and the contributions of the citizens to the mission of the University of Minnesota.
On November 28, several MN SCI faculty participated in a speed networking event sponsored by Regenerative Medicine Minnesota (RMM). The purpose of the event was to connect medical students and graduate students from both the Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota with faculty and research staff whose research programs include stem cell biology or regenerative medicine.
